Rage Theatrics helps both actor and audience develop knowledge and skill in the art of stage combat through touring shows, feature-length productions, and educational workshops. Based in Iowa City, IA, Rage is dedicated to developing original theatre, performing classic works, and presenting unique and high-quality action theatre.

Rage Theatrics began when Jason Tipsword (yes, that's his real name) and several friends decided to begin performing combat-focused shows at Renaissance Festivals under the title "Shattock Schoole of Defence." For over eight years Shattock has performed Ren Faires from coast to coast, although mostly throughout the Midwest.
As new members joined Shattock and the range of opportunities continued to grow, it became apparent that "Shattock" did not embrace all of the areas in which the group was active. Therefore, in February of 2006 Rage Theatrics was born as a registered Limited Liability Corporation.

Rage Presents Rage Presents is the production unit of Rage Theatrics. Dedicated to producing feature-length performances, the inaugural show Love and Rage took place in 2007. More info.
Shattock is a mixed group of Renaissance-themed comedians, swordfighters, brawlers and malcontents. Shattock shows combine comedy, combat and chaos into a fast-paced whole with something for everybody. In addition to Renaissance Faires, Shattock has been seen at city festivals, library presentations, and community events. More info.
Rage’s Education Series will come to your classroom, theatre club, professional development workshop, or other event to offer stage combat and theatre demonstrations and workshops. Plus, classes are available at various times throughout the year for individuals 18 and over interested in learning more about stage combat. More info.
